The Beginning of the Bobby Bicycle Brigade!

 Yooooo!

Happy new year! Here’s a lil recap of what I’ve been up to.

Annina and I had our young beginnings in San Diego, pedaling east towards Calexico for two days up over the Rumorosa mountains before crossing over the border to Mexicali.

The beginning of our trip was somewhat of a time crunch because we had a deadline to meet up with my Family for the holidays in Loreto, BCS.

We travelled down the 5 which is a gnarly yet beautiful  stretch of road. It would often have these crazy breaks that looked like something out of a surrealist painting, large sections of road wiped out by the most recent hurricane.

We mainly camped on the side of the road in the desert, and subsisted off of a lot of oatmeal and refried beans in a bag.

We just got out of a really sandy section of road from San Jose del Cabo  to Cabo Pulmo lots of pushing and walking. Luckily, we got a sweet sweet ride to the pavement.

We’re currently in La Ventana where it’s hella windy and rainy. We’re camping on the beach next to some dookie piles. Heading to La Paz soon.
Some of the highlights were:
-Meeting another cyclist couple who had been biking from Canada with their 10 month old baby!! Such cool inspiring people.
- Meeting the famous man in the middle of nowhere @ (Coco’s corner)
- Getting lost on the way to Cabo Pulmo and being rescued by a kind woman in Zacatitos who offered us food and a place to stay
-Hanging out with my family and meeting up with my uncle in Todos Santos
-Riding the downhill slopes from San Antonio to San Juan de los Planes

We made a lil collection of short video clips, gonna try and make these once a month or so (still learning how to edit on my phone i.e. some of the clips are trimmed weirdly).

Also gonna be working on a zine about the route, tips, plants and some comics. We’ll keep you posted.

Would love to hear about what you’re up to?
